Blueview Recovery treats mental health at four levels of outpatient intensity. They differ in how many hours a week they ask of you and how much clinical contact you get — not in who treats you, and not in how seriously your condition is taken.
Everything on this page is outpatient. You sleep in your own bed every night. What changes between the levels is how much of your week treatment occupies.
How the Levels Differ
The clearest way to read the ladder is by hours. A Partial Hospitalization Program runs five hours a day, five days a week. An Intensive Outpatient Program runs about five hours a session, three to five days a week. An Outpatient Program is usually one or two sessions a week.
Higher up means more structure and more frequent clinical contact. Lower down means more of your ordinary week back. Neither is better — the right level is the one that matches the support you need right now, and that changes as you go.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP is the highest level of care offered here. It suits people whose symptoms have escalated past what a weekly appointment can hold — after a hospital stay, during a severe depressive episode, or when a condition has outrun outpatient therapy.
Days combine individual therapy, group work and skill-building, and most people are in PHP for a matter of weeks rather than months before stepping down. The Mental Health PHP page covers the daily schedule in detail.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP is where most people either start or land after PHP. Sessions run about five hours, several days a week, adding up to roughly fifteen to twenty-five hours — enough structure to change something, few enough hours to keep a job.
Programs commonly run eight to twelve weeks, adjusted to your progress rather than to a fixed timetable. The IOP Mental Health page sets out the schedule and what the groups cover.
Outpatient Program (OP)
OP is the lightest level: usually one or two sessions a week, individual or group or both. It suits people who are reasonably stable and want to keep a clinical relationship in place while ordinary life takes back most of the room.
It is also where many people finish, stepping down from IOP rather than stopping on a Friday and hoping. The Mental Health Outpatient Program page explains what a week at this level looks like.
Virtual Mental Health IOP
The same IOP structure delivered by video, for people whose distance, schedule, transport or health makes attending in King of Prussia impractical. It is not a lighter option — the hours are the same.
Virtual care does not suit everyone, and the Virtual Mental Health IOP page is direct about who it does not suit. If you are in immediate danger, call 988 or 911 rather than waiting for the next session.
Care That Runs Alongside Every Level
Medication management is available at any level where it is clinically appropriate, alongside therapy rather than instead of it. Case management handles the practical scaffolding — benefits, referrals, paperwork — that quietly derails treatment when nobody is watching it.
If a substance use disorder is also present, it is planned into the same treatment by the same team. That is what dual diagnosis treatment means here. It is not a separate service you get handed to.
Which Level Fits, and How to Find Out
You do not have to work this out on your own. The first step is a confidential assessment with a licensed clinician, who will tell you honestly which level fits — including if that is somewhere other than here.
